Santa Clarita Boardgamers | Back to Games

A public club for playing boardgames and card games.
"Newcomers always welcome, and games happily taught!"
Would you like to get in some regular weeknight boardgaming in Santa Clarita? I would! I just need to find a few more like-minded folks, and then we can get going, perhaps one or two Wednesdays each month at the Barnes & Noble reading room or cafe. Here's what I've got in mind...

The Santa Clarita Boardgamers are a group of people who meet on a regulary basis in Santa Clarita (Valencia), California to play boardgames and card games. The games we play have an emphasis on strategy rather than luck, while still being more friendly and social than competitive. Many are published by Rio Grande Games, Hasbro/Avalon Hill, or Mayfair, companies that have learned to translate or even import the best games from Germany, where social boardgaming is still a big deal.

If you'd like to learn more about the sort of games we play, check out the newsgroup rec.games.board, the spielfrieks mailing list, or websites for other boardgame clubs like the Westbank Gamers of New Orleans and Billabong Gamers in Australia.
We invite you to email us if you're interested in finding out some more about the sort of games we play. Better yet, come along to a SCB game night sometime!

Email Mark Johnson if interested.

P.S. If anyone is more interested in weeknight (i.e. quick) wargaming, I'm up for that, too!
